I know you’re all still partying but

I wanted to take a moment to recognize Toni & Dan for all their help in getting this documentary made. Every step of the process from conception to completion, they offered assistance, inspiration, and guidance. Without them, none of this could have been possible.

Our editor has cut together a small, sneak peak of the Chicagoish Documentary for us to share. The clip is rough and sound has not been mixed. However, the clip has some Chicago, some really good voice over, and some great faces.

Enjoy!

A Long Overdue Update

In the not so distant past Demyilo, our editor, made the executive decision to change editing platforms. It was a good, dare I say great, decision. The cameras used to film CHSHumentary and the editing software were not playing well together. Everyday in the editing lab was like two kids fighting over the same toy. Then we would have to run around smacking the kids with wooden spoons until they would be nice to one another for the rest of recess.

So we took one step back to take two steps forward. Did I mention the one step back was to the beginning of the editing process? We lost quit a bit of ground. However, we are ahead of the point where changed software. The strides Demyilo is making now are coming much faster and with much less hair pulling.

Where are we at now? We are still in the rough cut stage. Long 20 minute interviews have been have cut into smaller, more manageable sub-clips. Sequences are starting to take shape. The CHSH story is coming together. Love is starting to pour from the monitors.

A little taste test is scheduled for next month with full release next year. We’re excited to show you the images we captured of our community. The smiles. The hugs. Even some tears. Okay the tears were mine, but I had dust in my eye and the sun was just at the right angle… and pocket vodka.

Sharing is coming. I promise.

Or my name’s not Christopher Thricepipes.

Meet your CHSHumentary editor, Demyilo. He is also a film student at OCCC and great at what he does. He directs, acts, edits; he does it all. His personality is even more warm than the picture above shows.
Since CHSH, Demyilo has been organizing all documentary footage. It’s a long, necessary task. With all footage organized and prepped, the editing process runs much more efficiently. He has been working with Stacy in building a framework for the doc. He will marry principle footage, user footage, archive footage, with motion graphics, effects and score to create a viewer experience of our world and our tweet up.
During the organization process, Demyilo has had a chance to view a great deal of the footage. His response, “I want to go to CHSH next year.” We’re going to do everything in our power to hold him to it.

Call for footage

All those who performed small videos for the chsh tweetup, I need your footage.

Whether you did or did not collect footage from the weekend, you can still contribute. Perform a small video discussing the post chsh blues or tweetup hangover. Discuss your favorite part of the weekend or why you’ll go to a tweetup again.

Feel free to submit still images from the weekend too! Especially those out and about on the town with fellow Internet nerds or at chsh events.

Send me an email with your content or Dropbox link to chshumentary [@] gmail. If you have questions or ideas, please contact me.

WOW!

It’s been a run and gun weekend, and I apologize for not having posted more here. I did, however, make up for not posting by capturing some of the most wonderful people in this whirlwind of an event we know as CHSH via the moving pictures.

I am genuinely touched by the honest stories of connection and love among our community. Many people opened their hearts and lives to share an experience on behalf of this documentary. For that alone, I am eternally grateful.

But the love didn’t stop there. Many people pulled me aside over the course of the weekend to emphasize how strongly they felt about this project because of how strongly they feel about our group. While some participants of the tweet up preferred not to participate directly, they were still hugely supportive of the endeavor. I encountered no opposition to the project whatsoever.

I hope I can further honor you, my friends, by cutting together these magical moments into a story worthy of your greatness.

And shut up, I am not crying. Okay maybe I am, but they’re tears of joy. I love you guys.

-Stacy

Don’t forget to document your trip!

Short videos along the way of your journey to the party. Talk about where you’re coming from or what your tweetup expectations are. Discuss anxieties or excitements. And don’t forget to tell the audience who you are in your vlogs. Have fun and be yourself!

Meet Christopher! Seen here holding an award from Trail Dance Film Festival for a short film in which he was Associate Producer.
Chris is our Producer/sound/camera guy! Chris is not only my husband, but also a dedicated filmmaker and problem solver.
While Chris wears many hats, Producing and Screenwriting are what he is most passionate about. Chris is also in film school. His film major is in addition to his BS in Marketing from Oklahoma State University.
You may remember him from CHSH Spring ‘11 or RoKCtober 2010. As a marketer, Chris understands the power of social media, and as a filmmaker, he grasps why our story is unique and worth telling.
You’ll see Chris around this weekend in Chicago. Say Hi and get to know him. He’s a great guy and easy to talk to. I’m relieved that he can be part of this documentary and make the journey with me. I’m proud to announce him as part of the CHSHumentary crew!

Meet Stacy! I’m seen here operating the Panasonic AF100 camera, mounted on a dolly (a platform on wheels.) It was a cold day, but I wouldn’t want to be doing anything else.
I’ll be the Director/camera/host for our documentary journey. I have been dreaming of documenting the love and connection that our group possesses for some time. As host I look forward to speaking with you, tagging along on adventures, and capturing the experiences of CHSH.
While most of my experience has been operating the camera, I have worked as director of photography and a grip, or set lighting tech. As a film major my goal is to connect the true emotion of actors/subjects to the audience.
You’ll see me this weekend in Chicago. Come say hi. Possibly we can share a first hug.

Meet @vabicicletta or Ryan!
Ryan is our sound/camera/grip guy. He is a friend and hardworking, talented filmmaker. He, like me, is still in film school as well but has as many, if not more, productions under his belt than I do.
Ryan is an aspiring Director and Screenwriter. Like you do in this business, Ryan is working his way up and making a hell of a good name for himself along the way.
Ryan is new to Twitter, doesn’t yet have a Tumblr, and is a virgin among the internet community. But when asked about how he felt about social media and people connecting in such a way, he had some interesting insights for a guy who doesn’t yet identify as “from the internet”.
You’ll see his face this weekend in Chicago. Please say hello and welcome him into our community. He’s warm and friendly and should fit right in! I am honored to have him with me and proud to announce him as part of the CHSHumentary crew!
